All About GSJ...

In November of 2007, a team of dedicated volleyball players, coaches and volunteers met to discuss ways to better improve competitive volleyball in the Myrtle Beach area. Our goal was to start a junior club volleyball team for girls of the Grand Strand. After an overwhelming turnout for the team tryouts, Grand Strand Juniors was born as a not for profit volleyball program. The first year featured 3 travel teams with a total of about 30 girls. 2026 will be the start of our 18th season of competition. We have grown to 31 travel teams, 3 youth development teams, and over 500 young women across two locations now participating in our programs. We have changed the face of volleyball in our area and impacted the youth in a positive way.

Since 2007- By Volleyball Players for Volleyball Players

The progress that our program and the players have made is incredible. Volleyball in the area has prospered greatly and we are making an impact on the entire state with multiple high school Region Champions, Lower State Champions, and State Champions . We have also graduated over 60 girls into college programs with many of them receiving partial and full scholarships. GSJ host two of the best tournaments in the Southeast with the Winter Bump Volleyball Classic, and the Coastal Classic Volleyball Championships. Between these two tournaments and the three others within the Toast of the Coast Tournament series, we are hosting over 1,000 teams, growing volleyball in the region and giving back to the community. Grand Strand Juniors is now competing with the best teams in the region and colleges are looking at our program for recruiting future college athletes.

Our simple goal of wanting to “Create Better Volleyball Players” has also extended into the Grand Strand community. The Winter Bump and Coastal Classic tournament have brought in millions dollars in revenue to local businesses in the month of January and June.

GSJ is making a difference.
